Raleigh, NC – Do you have a project that showcases perennials? The Association of Perennial Plants is delighted to announce that the application period for the 2022 Landscape Design Awards is now open!
Launched in 1992, the PPA Landscape Design Awards program recognizes design projects that are exemplary in the use of herbaceous perennials to help create balanced and beautiful landscapes. the
Of particular interest to the Perennial Plant Association are ‘aftermarket’ applications of growers’ products and the design, installation and maintenance of plants in gardens and natural settings. Both experienced and novice designers are welcome to participate.
Each year, the judges assess numerous exceptional landscaping and select the most excellent entries based on the effectiveness of the perennial herbaceous plant material used through the installation of new cultivars, color combinations, textures and seasonal combinations.
Entries include 11 categories based on residential, commercial, educational, temporary / seasonal designs and production price. The judges are professionals in the fields of horticulture and design.
This year’s winners will be recognized in the following ways:
- Awards August 2 at the 2022 PPA National Symposium in Lancaster, PA
- Free registration for Tuesday August 2 at the 2022 PPA National Symposium in Lancaster, PA
- Press release announce award recipients sent to media publications
- Social media promotion and full functionality in an upcoming APP Bulletin
- PPA 2022 Webinar showcasing award-winning design projects, hosted by each design team (webinar date to be confirmed with winners)

Scholarship applications and supporting documents should be sent to the Perennial Plant Association office by March 18, 2022. Applicants will be notified of assessments in May 2021.
